Yu Darvish on pace to Strikeout 375+ in 2013

Yu Darvish may become the first pitcher since 2002 to strikeout 300 batters in a single season. In fact, he is on pace to strikeout well over 300 so far. The Rangers starter has been dominant, posting a mere .169 opposing batting average.

Keep in mind that I said "may become the first pitcher since 2002". Barely one fifth of the season has gone by. If something goes wrong for Darvish, his chances of getting 300 K's will plummet. Not only can he not afford to make any less than 30 starts, he must also keep at the pace he is on.

AJ Burnett of the Pirates is on pace to strikeout about 260, while Max Scherzer of the Detroit Tigers is on track for around 288 K's.
